A Code of Ethics for Astrologers

Astrology carries responsibility and clients may share deeply personal parts of their lives with an astrologer, and that trust should be treated with care.

If astrology is to be approached as a serious practice, the people practicing it should be willing to hold themselves to ethical standards.

1) Do no harm
Astrology should help people better understand their lives, not frighten them. Avoid interpretations designed to create fear or unnecessary anxiety.

2) The chart is about the client, not the astrologer
Our personal experiences, opinions, and biases should never become someone else's interpretation.

3) Respect different beliefs
A client does not need to share our religion, spirituality, politics, or personal worldview to receive a respectful reading.

4) Don't speak in absolutes
Astrology can reveal patterns, timing, and possibilities. It does not eliminate circumstance, choice, or free will.

5) Don't create dependency
A client should never feel that they need an astrologer to make every decision. Astrology can always provide insights, but when it comes to decision making that is up to the client.
